SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON ASHTEN CASH

Ashten Cash is a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), Patient Care Coordinator, and Senior Laser Practitioner at Meadows Surgical Arts. She sees patients in the office, assists Dr. Meadows in surgery, and perform all types of laser treatments.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR JOB AT MEADOWS SURGICAL ARTS?

I applied for a part time position within the OR prior to taking my NCLEX exam (the nationwide examination for the licensing of nurses, taken upon graduation from a school of nursing). I took and passed my NCLEX exam and started working at MSA the very next day. After a year of working part-time, I transitioned into a full-time position.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING AT MSA?

The best part about working at MSA is, hands down, my co-workers. I have never worked anywhere where I have felt so close to my coworkers. We all know our roles and tackle each day as a team (including Dr. Meadows).

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR PARTICULAR ROLE AT MSA?

Considering that I have many roles at MSA, I like that I am simply not just "a nurse." I love the variety of patients that we see. Most of all, I love being in surgery and witnessing patients' transformations.

WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR ROLE?

The biggest challenge for me is leaving my work at work. With the job comes a great deal of consideration for our patients and their overall well-being. Oftentimes, I come home still thinking about those patients and how to optimize their care.

IF YOU COULD SWITCH ROLES WITH ANYONE ELSE AT MSA, WHO WOULD YOU SWITCH WITH?

If I could switch roles with anyone in the office, it would be Dr. Meadows. I think that it would be a seamless role switch... 👠💄💁
